The City's current payments to MURA ($30,000), West <br /> Piedmont Business Incubator ($20,000), and Longwood <br /> Development ($10,000) Center will be given to the Coalition. <br /> The Coalition is free to use these funds any way it deems <br /> necessary. <br /> <br /> Council considered business from the floor. Mel Cartright, of 1406 Whittle Road, <br />inquired regarding the City Manager search. Mayor Teague replied that a private firm <br />was hired for the process. From over 100 applications received, the firm narrowed the <br />field to fifteen, and Council selected five to interview. It is Council's intent to involve the <br />Council Members-elect following the election. Mark Stroud, of 1204 Oakgrove Avenue, <br />commended Mr. Bartlett on his budget efforts and encouraged Council to "tread lightly <br />with the fire and police budgets." <br /> <br /> Council Member Ferrill moved to approve the following Consent Agenda item; <br />the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members <br />voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> A. Accept and appropriate into the General Fund for the FY04 budget <br /> the following: <br /> 1. $2,098 in Revenue into 01101918 443152 - State Grants/Fire <br /> Training Mini-Grant for Expenditure in 01321102 505500 - Fire <br /> Department/Fire Training <br /> <br /> Roop encouraged everyone to vote in the Council elections on <br /> 2004.
