February 19, 2004 <br /> <br /> Council discussed media relations. Vice Mayor Roop expressed a need for a <br />single, unified voice following Closed Sessions. Mayor Teague reminded everyone that <br />confidential matters are to remain confidential. All Council Members present agreed to <br />such. Matt Hankins, Public Information Officer, stated that the Communication Plan <br />was approved in April 1999 and needs to be updated; he will do so and present it to <br />Council. Council Member Ferrill requested that a project list be maintained of items <br />presented at meetings and their status; Staff will work to achieve this. A discussion <br />ensued regarding the complaint and citizens' concern process. <br /> <br /> Council discussed Hooker Field. Mr. Bartlett presented a historical review <br />regarding its use, current requests, and the financial implications of such requests. By <br />general consensus, with no vote taken, Council agreed to decrease high school <br />practices to ten, decrease the American Legion practices to ten and games to ten, and <br />limit the budget to $24,000. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before Council during their strategic <br /> planning session, upon motion by Vice Mayor Roop, duly seconded, by unanimous <br /> vote, Mayor Teague declared the meeting adjourned at 3:45 P.
