AGENDA <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA <br /> <br />Council Chambers - Municipal Building <br />7:30 p.m. - Tuesday, March 9, 2004 <br /> <br />Invocation - Mayor M. Gene Teague <br /> <br />Pledge to the American flag <br /> <br />I. Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of February <br /> 19, 21 and 24, 2004. (See Enclosures #l-a, #1-b and #l-c) <br /> <br />II. Presentation concerning new purchase power contract by representatives <br /> of Blue Ridge Power Agency. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />Consider adoption, on first reading, of Ordinance No. 2004-5 amending <br />Section 12-11 of the City Code relating to reimbursement of expenses <br />incurred in responding to DUI and other traffic incidents. (See Enclosure <br />#2) <br /> <br />IV. Consider adoption, on fn'st reading, of Ordinance No. 2004-6 adding <br /> Section 13-19.1 to Chapter 13 of the City Code relating to giving the <br /> police department the authority to enforce trespassing on real property in <br /> the absence of the property owner. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />V. Business from the Floor <br /> <br />This section of the Council meeting provides citizens the <br />opportunity to discuss matters, which are not listed on the printed <br />agenda. In that the Council meetings are broadcast on Martinsville <br />Government Television, the City Council is responsible for the <br />content of the programming. Thus, any person wishing to bring a <br />matter to Council's attention under this Section of the agenda <br />should: (1) come to the podium and state their name and address; <br />(2) state the matter that they wish to discuss and what action they <br />would llke for Council to take; (3) limit their remarks to five <br />minutes; and (4) refrain from making any personal references or <br />accusations of a factvally false and/or malicious nature. <br /> <br />VI.
