December 9, 2003 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. ReYnolds' dedication to public safety has led to <br /> many updates and improvements in fire, police and rescue <br /> operations, notwithstanding transitions in leadership and personnel; <br /> and . <br /> -WH~.~,~; thrOUgh his leadership, the City of Martinsville has <br /> continued to modernize and improve its capital facilities and <br /> equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mr~ Reynolds, principal dedice~ti0n has been to the <br /> workforce of the city, continuing to improve benefits, compensation, <br /> training, job satiSfact on and customer service, thereby improving <br /> relations with the C~munity and residents of Martinsville and all <br /> sucrounding communities; now, therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Cty of Mai~insville, in <br /> regular S'~sion a~sembled December 9, 2003 that the City of <br /> Martinsville and its residents sh°ud honor a~nd esteem Earl B. <br /> Reynolds Jr. for his many years of dedicated professional service, <br /> and does wish him well in his new endeavors. With the passage of <br /> this resolution, Coucicil does also present Earl B. Reynolds Jr. with <br /> the special honor of a Key to the City of Martinsville <br /> <br />Council presented a Key to the City and gift to Mr. Reynolds. Jerry BrOck, Chief of Fire, <br />presented Mr. Reynolds with a plaque, naming him "Honorary Fire Chief." Michael <br />Rogers, Chief of POlice, cornmbhted on ML Rbynoids' work ethics and leadership <br />abilities and ~resehted him a print of the Virginia flag. On behalf of the Police <br />Department, coretha Gravely, Robert Ramsey, Eddie Cassady, and Steve Joyce <br />presented Mr. Re~h0id~ with a print of the Am~rban flag. Comments were made by <br />former Mayor Ma~k Crabtree, former Council M~ber Eii~abeth Haskell, and Jerry <br />Womack, of ~00 F0u~h Street. ira TrOllin~br, Su~'~i-i~tendent, Presbhte~l Mr. Reynolds <br />with a Resolution Of Appreciation from the SchOOl Board. <br /> <br /> Council c6nsidered adoPfi(~n Of a Reso!utidn recognizing the heroic action taken <br />by individuals dui~ihg the receht ~aifunction of the generator at the Martinsville Hydro <br />Plant.
