August12,2003 <br /> <br />perhaps a quarterly meeting could focus on each neighborhood. Council Member Ferrill <br /> <br />concurred and said Council can try it and change it if necessary, vice Mayor RoOp <br /> <br />moved to conduct town meetings in Council Chamber; the motion was duly seconded <br /> <br />and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 4 - 1; Yeas (4) - <br /> <br />CObbe, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (1) - Dallas. <br /> <br />Council considered business from the floor. Erizzell Martin, of 16 High Street, <br /> <br />voiced concerns regarding the upkeep and condition of his neighborhood. Council <br /> <br />requested the City Manager to respond back to Council regarding Mr. Martin's <br /> <br />concerns. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Roop moved to adopt the following Consent Agenda items; the <br /> <br />motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> A. Accept and appropriate in the General Fund for the FY04 Budget <br /> the following: <br /> 1. $2,381 in Revenue into 01101917 442401 - Categorical <br /> Other State/Confiscated Assets-Police for Expenditure in <br /> 01311085 506078 - Police/State Asset Forfeiture <br /> 2. $420 in Revenue into 01101917 442402 - Categorical Other <br /> State/Confiscated Assets-Commonwealth Attorney for <br /> Expenditure in 01221085 506102 - Commonwealth's <br /> Attorney/State Assets Forfeiture <br /> B. Accept and appropriate into the General Fund for the FY03 Budget <br /> the following: <br /> 1. $386 in Revenue into 01102925 436138 - Noncategorical <br /> FederaINictim Witness for Expenditure in 01219080 506104 <br /> - Victim Witness/Non-Capital Equipment. <br /> C. Set a Public Hearing for August 26, 2003, to consider the donation <br /> of City-owned real property on Starling Avenue to the Virginia <br /> Museum of Natural History. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session.
