Materials & Supplies <br />$12,577 in 85002200 568200 - Reading First FY04/Capital <br />Outlay <br /> <br />Mayor Teague announced proclamations naming October as "Domestic Violence <br /> <br />and Sexual Violence Awareness Month" and September 28, 2003, as "National Good <br /> <br />Neighbor Day. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br /> <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br /> <br />by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br />Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1. <br />1. Southern Area Agency on Aging Board <br />A personnel matter under the jurisdiction of the City Council, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br /> <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br /> <br />Session. Upon return to Opep Session, Council took the following action: <br /> <br />1. Vice Mayor Roop moved to appoint Hal H. Huben~r, of 1507 <br />Whittle Road, to a three-year term on the Southern Area Agency on <br />Aging Board, ending September 28, 2006; the motion was duly <br />seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members <br />voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, <br />Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> <br />
