AGENDA CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA Council Chambers - Municipal Building 7:30 P.M. -Tuesday, May 13, 2003 Invocation - Council Member Bruce H. T. Dallas Pledge to the American flag I. Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of March 13 and 25 and April 8, 2003. (See Enclosures #l-a, 1-b and l-c) II. Presentation by the Eighth Grade Scholars Class at Martinsville Middle School. COMMENTS: This Class has worked on a unit called "Project Citizen", which involves community problem-solving. One group wants a skate park in Martinsville and has written a grant asking for funding. A second group sees the need for a transit system in our area and the third group is promoting a teen center. Ms. Anne Stultz is their teacher. III. Review financial report for month ending 03/31/03. (See Enclosure #2) IV. Consider adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance No. 2003-4 amending Ordinance No. 2000-4 relating to the meals tax notification process used by the Commissioner of Revenue to collect such taxes. (See Enclosure #3) V. Consider adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance 2003-3 on a request by the Planning Commission to amend Zoning Ordinance Sections I-VII and XVI- XXIV. (See Enclosure #4) VI. Consider adoption of a Resolution upon a request by the West Piedmont Planning District Commission to continue support to the West Piedmont Regional Alliance. (See Enclosure #5) VII. Comments by the Public on proposed revenue enhancements to FY04 budget. VIII. Continuation of FY04 Budget Reviews. (See Enclosure #6) IX. Business from the Floor This section of the Council meeting provides citizens the opportunity to discuss matters, which are not listed on the printed agenda.
