Proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendments <br />Sections I to VII <br />& <br /> Sections XVI to XXIV <br /> <br />General Purpose of Changes: <br /> Make the ordinance more user friendly to the public. <br /> · Remove outdatedplanning terminology <br /> · Resolve all redundancy and ambiguity <br /> · Update to meet the 1997 comprehensive revision of Virginia Code, Title <br /> 15.2 - Counties Cities, and Towns with particular attention to Chapter 22- <br /> Planning, Subdivision of Land and Zoning <br /> <br />Sections I to VII amended as follows: <br /> <br />Section I Districts & Boundaries No amendment <br /> <br />Section H Definitions <br /> <br />Amendment of definitions for: <br /> I. Dwelling Unit- amend <br /> 2. Duplex- amend <br /> 3. Kennel- amend <br /> 4. Manufactured Home- amend <br /> 5. Mobile Home- amend <br /> 6. Motel- amend <br /> 7. Rooming/BoardingHouse-amend <br /> 8. Shopping Centers-amend <br /> 9. Townhouse- amend <br /> 10. Yard Sale-new <br /> I 1. Delete definition for Transient Storage <br /> 12. Delete definition for Trailer <br /> <br />Section III General Provisions <br /> <br />Amendment: <br /> <br />Amendment to ordinance permitting yard sales in all zoning districts of the city with <br />operating requirements as stated in this section. Addition of this zoning amendment is <br />directed at a problem with certain continuous yard sales that are in fact retail operations <br />operating illegally in residential areas. These are in fact retail businesses operating <br />without business licenses. Enforcement will be by complaint as is property maintenance. <br /> <br />Section IV Site Plan <br /> <br />Amendment: <br /> <br />Amendment stating that a landscape plan may be a required as a part of site plan review <br />process. A landscape plan shall be required for a proposed new principal building or <br />use, a proposed change to higher intensity use, and proposed use and/or building <br />expansion. <br /> <br /> <br />
