December 12, 2002 <br /> <br /> A special meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, was held on <br />December 12, 2002, to convene as the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority, in Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, beginning at 11:22 A. M., with <br />Mayor Gene Teague presiding. Council Members present included: M. Gene Teague, <br />Mayor; Terry L. Roop, Vice Mayor; and Council Members Joseph R. Cobbe, Bruce H. <br />T. Dallas, and J. Ronald Ferrill. <br /> <br /> Council recessed and convened as the Authority. The Authority considered the <br />need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of <br />Virclinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion by Council Member Dallas, duly <br />seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, the Authority convened in Closed Session, <br />for the purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br /> A. A prospective business or industry or expansion of an <br /> existing business or industry where no . previous <br /> announcement has been made of the business' or industry's <br /> interest in locating or expanding its facilities in the <br /> community as authorized by Subsection 5. <br /> <br /> At the conulusion of this Closed Session, each member present of the Authority <br />certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements <br />were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified <br />in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered <br />during said Session. Upon return to Open Session, Vice Chairman Roop moved to <br />authorize the Chairman to execute the performance agreement with Axiom <br />Technologies; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br />members present: Vote 4 - 0; Yeas (4) - Cobbe, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />
