August 27, 2002 by Vice Mayor Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matter: Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1. 1. Comprehensive Services Act Community Policy and Management Team 2. Industrial Development Authority 3. Pittsylvania County Community Action Agency Board At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following action: 2. Council Member Dallas moved to appoint Vern Berry, of 1325 Mulberry Road, to a four-year term on the Industrial Development Authority, ending September 26, 2006; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. 3. Vice Mayor Roop moved to appoint Deborah Diann Brim-Preston, of 513 Fayette Street, to a three-year term on the Pittsylvania County Community Action Agency Board, ending August 31, 2005; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. There being no further business to come before Council during their regular meeting, upon motion by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, Mayor Teague declared the meeting adjourned at 10:23 P.
