August 27, 2002 <br /> <br />by Vice Mayor Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br />Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1. <br />1. Comprehensive Services Act Community Policy and <br /> Management Team <br />2. Industrial Development Authority <br />3. Pittsylvania County Community Action Agency Board <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br /> <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br /> <br />Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following action: <br /> <br />2. Council Member Dallas moved to appoint Vern Berry, <br />of 1325 Mulberry Road, to a four-year term on the Industrial <br />Development Authority, ending September 26, 2006; the <br />motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, <br />with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, <br />Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br />3. Vice Mayor Roop moved to appoint Deborah Diann <br />Brim-Preston, of 513 Fayette Street, to a three-year term on <br />the Pittsylvania County Community Action Agency Board, <br />ending August 31, 2005; the motion was duly seconded and <br />carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote <br />5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays <br />(0) - None. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before Council during their regular <br /> <br />meeting, upon motion by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br /> <br />Mayor Teague declared the meeting adjourned at 10:23 P.
