May 28, 2002 <br /> <br /> ? <br /> <br /> A work session meeting to review the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Proposed Budget <br /> <br />and a regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />were held on May 28, 2002, in COuncil Chamber of the Municipal Building, beginning at <br />6:00 P. M., with Mayor Mark Crabtree presiding. Council Members present included: <br />Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene Teague, Vice Mayor; and Council Members Bruce <br />H. T. Dallas, J. Ronald Ferrill, and Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br /> Ashby Pritchett, Clerk of Circuit Court, presented his office's budget request. <br /> <br /> Wayne D. P. Knox, Planning, Zoning, & Housing Manager, presented his <br />department's budget requests. <br /> <br /> Tony Rinaldi, Leisure Services, presented his department's budget request. <br /> <br /> Earl B. Reynolds, Jr., City Manager, presented the capital reserve budget <br />request. <br /> <br /> Council recessed at 7:25 P. M., and reconvened at 7:38 P. M. <br /> <br /> Following the invocation by Council Member Dallas and the Pledge of Allegiance, <br />Mayor Crabtree welcomed everyone to the meeting. <br /> <br /> Council considered approval of the minutes of the April 23, 2002, and May 14, <br />2002, meetings, as presented; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br />following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, <br />Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Brenda Prillaman, Customer Services Coordinator, and Matthew Hankins, Public <br />Info~matiori' Officer, presented a report of the Citizen Survey 2002. A total of 1,409 <br />responses, or 17.39 percent, was returned. Results will be utilized in future strategic <br />planning. <br /> <br /> <br />
