AGENDA CITY COUNCIL NEIGHBORHOOD TOWN MEETING CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA ALBERT HARRIS INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL 718 Smith Road Tuesday, March 26, 2002 7:00 P.M. Reception/Informational Session 7:30 P.M. Town Meeting Invocation - Council Member Bruce H. T. Dallas Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of February 12, February 26, March 7 and March 12. {See Enclosures #I-a, l-b, 1-c and l-d) II. Conduct the Town Meeting. (See Enclosure #2) III. Consider adoption of a Resolution recognizing the Martinsville High School Boys Basketball Team for winning the Group AA State Championship for 2002. (See Enclosure #3) COMMENTS: The Mayor will present this Resolution' to the team at a Community Celebration on Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at 5:00 p.m. at the Dan Greene Memorial Stadium. We recommend that Council adopt this Resolution as prepared. IV. Consider adoption of a Resolution requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation to add eligible lane mileage for Collector/Local street maintenance payments to the City. (See Enclosure #4) COMMENTS: As you will note from Leon Towarnicki's memo, since the addition of Carilion Drive from the intersection of Brookdale Road to the end of the improvements, there is a need to update our eligible lane miles for the State's calculation of street maintenance payments to the City. We recommend that Council adopt this Resolution as prepared. Conduct a Public Hearing and consider approval, on first reading, of Ordinance 2002-1 on a request by the Planning Commission to amend Zoning Ordinance Section XI, Professional Districts. (See Enclosure #5) COMMENTS: The Planning Commission has reviewed and approved this request; therefore, we recommend that Council approve the Ordinance on first reading.
