Enclosure <br /> <br />Januaw 22,2002 <br /> <br /> A regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, was held on January 22, 2002, at Patrick Henry Elementary School, beginning <br />at 7:30 P. M., with Mayor Mark Crabtree presiding. Council Members present included: <br />Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene Teague, Vice Mayor; and Council Members Bruce <br />H. T. Dallas, J. Ronald Ferrill, and Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br /> Following the invocation by Council Member Ferrill, Mayor Crabtree welcomed <br />everyone to the meeting. <br /> <br /> Council Member Ferrill moved to adopt the Minutes of December 3, 2001, and <br />January 8, 2002, as presented; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br />following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, <br />Roop, Teague; Nays (0)'- None. <br /> <br /> Council conducted the Town Meeting. Brenda Prillaman, Customer Service <br />Representative, presented the report of the Druid Hills and Middle School areas for <br />December 2000 through December 2001. There was no business from the floor. <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption of a Resolution requesting the Virginia Department <br />of Transportation to convey residue parcels associated with the Spruce Street <br />Extension Project #0650-044-196, C501; 0650-120-101, C501. Leon Towarnicki, <br />Director of Public Works, stated that these parcels have lai~l dormant for years and that <br />there would be minor upkeep maintenance if the City retains the properties. Council <br />Member Ferrill moved to adopt the following Resolution; the motion was duly seconded <br />and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - <br />Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, plans prepared by the Virginia Department of' <br /> Transportation have been provided to this Council, dated January <br /> <br /> <br />
