Vo <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />VIII. <br /> <br />Consider sending a letter to our legislators in support for federal <br />legislation that will encourage the United States to initiate meaningful <br />and appropriate action to assist communities impacted by the trade <br />policies enacted by the Congress. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: It is recommended that the Council authorize the City <br />Manager to send a letter to our congressional representatives in support <br />of the package of legislation previously submitted by Henry County. <br /> <br />Consider authorizing the Mayor to execute Revised By-Laws for the West <br />Piedmont Workforce Investment Board for Area #17. (Enclosure #4) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: The West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board has <br />redrafted its By-laws in compliance with the requirements of the Act. <br />is recommended that the Council authorize the Mayor to execute this <br />document on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />It <br /> <br />Consider approval of the City's prioritized list of projects to be included <br />in the Year 2002 Regional Comprehensive Economic Development <br />Strategy and authorizing the City Manager to provide this information to <br />the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development <br />Administration. (See Enclosure #5) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: The West Piedmont Planning District Commission updates <br />this document annually in order to obtain eligibility for localities to apply <br />for Economic Development Administration funding for various projects. <br />We recommend that City Council approve the City's updated priority list <br />of projects and authorize the City Manager to provide this information to <br />the U.S. Department of Commerce EDA. <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing and consider adoption of Ordinance 2001-6 on <br />a request by the Planning Commission to amend Zoning Ordinance <br />Section X, District Regulations-Residential, R-6, R-9, and R-16 Districts <br />with proposed new R-5 zoning district. (See Enclosure #6) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: The Planning Commission has reviewed and approved this <br />request, therefore, we recommend that Council adopt the Ordinance. <br /> <br />IX.
