October 9, 2001 <br /> <br />terminate such assistance to tenants who, following several <br />complaints, still conduct themselves and/or allow other persons on <br />the premises with his consent, whether known by the tenant or not, <br />in a manner that disturbs his neighbors' peaceful enjoyment of their <br />contract units and is otherwise noisy, dangerous, disruptive or <br />injurious to the rights, privileges and welfare of such other residents <br />and other persons in the surrounding neighborhood; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that a certified copy <br />of this Resolution requesting authority to vacate such tenants shall <br />be sent to the administration of the Virginia Housing Development <br />Authority. <br /> <br />Wade Bartlett, Director of Finance, presented the financial reports for the months <br /> <br />ending July 31, 2001, and August 30, 2001. <br /> <br /> Council considered an update regarding the Uniform Statewide Building Code <br /> <br />concerning emergency exits in apartments. David B. Worthy, City Attorney, stated that <br />it would an uphill battle to request a requirement of a second exit. Council requested <br /> <br />that Staff send a letter with a copy of Mr. Worthy's written response to the Virginia <br /> <br />Municipal League for policy committee exploration and to Hardin Edwards, of 810 <br /> <br />Forest Lake Drive. <br /> <br />Council Member Roop moved to adopt the following Consent Agenda items; the <br /> <br />motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferdll, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br />A. Set a Public Hearing for October 23 on a request by American Properties <br /> Management Corporation and formerly known as King's Mountain <br /> Development Corporation and The Lester Group to abandon the <br /> undeveloped portion of a public right of way known as Perdue Street. <br />B. Accept and appropriate a $500 donation from Ladies of the Elks, BPOE 1752 <br /> into Revenue 01100908-480401-Donations fo..r. ~xpenditure 01311085- <br /> 506104-Non-Capital Equipment in the Police Department's budget in the <br /> General Fund for the FY2001-02 Budget. <br />C. Accept and appropriate a $20 donation from Horsepasture Christian Church <br /> and a $500 donation from Mimi Riggins into Revenue 01100908-480410- <br /> Donations for Expenditure 01321102-506104-Miscellaneous in the Fire <br /> Department's budget in the General Fund for the FY2001-02 Budget. <br /> <br /> <br />
