THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2001 <br /> <br />Action Plan: <br /> <br />Complete agreement with Henry County on water/sewer, industrial park and solid waste <br />projects. <br />Water, industrial park, and solid waste projects are complete; sewer is ongoing <br /> <br />Council will review the Virginia Tech broadband communication study and identify its <br />potential for the City. 6/30/02 <br /> <br />Explore the development of cooperative relationships with Danville and South Boston. <br />Conncil will schedule future, joint meetings with these localities. <br /> <br />Seek opportunities to develop collaborations with the Roanoke Valley and the Triad area. <br /> 6/30/02 <br /> <br />Support legislation that encourages regional cooperation. <br /> <br />Ongoing <br /> <br />Support the funding of the Regional Competitiveness Act. <br /> <br />Ongoing <br /> <br />Support adoption of legiSlation that allows regional revenue sharing and the development of <br />public/private partnerships.
