M., in Council Chamber of the <br />Municipal Building, with Mayor Mark Crabtr:ee presiding. Council Memb.ers. present <br />included: Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene Teague, Vice Mayor; and Council <br /> <br />Members J. Ronald Ferd!! p~dTer.ry L, Roop. <br /> <br />Council Member Bruce H_~ T.. Dallas was <br /> <br />absent. <br /> <br />Following the invocation with ~a m0mept qf~ si!e0~p.for~the victims, a~.~fa~.il!~?, of~ <br /> <br />today's attacks on ..t. be...W~or!~.~T[ade.~.C~pt~r a.~d .~t~e P~e~ta~0n~ Mayor Crabtree-. · . <br /> <br />welcomed everyone to the ~eeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferd!!~m0vPd. to adopt the Minutes. of August 14, 2001, and <br /> <br />August 23, 2001, as amended; the motion was dulY seconded and car~dpdby the <br />following vote, with all members present voting: Vote 4 - 0; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Ferrill, <br /> <br />Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br />-.? ~Council COnsidered business from the floor, but there was none. <br /> <br />Council considered conducti, ng a Public Hearing on a request by Virgia B. <br /> <br />Hobson to rezone property located ~at 1009.~F.ayette Street, from R-9 Residential t0 <br /> <br />Commercial and adopting an Ordinan~c~.~. ~uthoriz!ng the rezoning. Wayne D. P. Knox, <br /> <br />Planning, Zoning, & Housing Manager, stated that the current use ~ ~hiS property as a <br />carwash constitutes a pre-existing, non-conforming use in a residential zone and.t0 <br /> <br />retain the use as a carwash and add a new use of a~smail engine repair requires a <br />commercial zoning classificatiOn, He added ~hat~,.t~i~,a?a,~,f ~yett? street is already <br />designated as commercial pn~the~ p[oposed Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Council Member Roop stated, I share the concernS 0f citi~en~~ Of whaf~"ii'~ happening to <br /> <br /> <br />
