August28,2001 <br /> <br />Administration/Staff review the City's agreements with Adelphia to ensure that <br />everything that Adelphia is installing is approved. <br /> <br /> Council Member Roop moved to adopt the following Consent Agenda item; the <br />motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: <br />Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> A. Set a Public Hearing for Tuesday, September 11, 2001, on a request by <br /> Virgia B. Hobson to rezone property located at 1009 Fayette Street (known <br /> as parcel 30(06)01A&01 on the Tax Map of the City of Martinsville), from R-9 <br /> Residential to C-lA Commercial. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virqinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />by Council Member Ferrill, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Appointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection <br /> 1. <br /> 1. Board of Zoning Appeals <br /> 2. Henry-Martinsville Social Services Board <br /> 3. Industrial Development Authority Board <br /> 4. Planning Commission <br /> B. Personnel matters under the jurisdiction of the Council, as authorized by <br /> Subsection 1. <br /> C. Personnel matters under the jurisdiction of the City Manager, as authorized <br /> by Subsection 1. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br /> (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br /> Session.
