RESOL UT[ON <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the Martinsville City School Board held in MartinsvilIe, Vir~nia, on the <br /> Z3rdday of July ~ 200l, the following resolution of support was presented and authorized.' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Martinsville City School System has actively participated in the feasibility <br />study for the planning and development of the Piedmont Governor's School for Mathematics, <br />Science, and Technology, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after review and consideration of the resultant feasibility study, it has been <br />formally accepted by the Marfinsville City School Bo'ad, and <br /> <br />WltEREAS, the Martinsville citY School Board recognizes the need for an acader~c year <br />Regional Governor's School for high achieving, highly motivated, and academically ~fted <br />students, and <br /> <br />~REAS, pending final review, approval, and appropriation of funds by the Virginia Board <br />of Education and the .Virginia Genera/Assembly, now therefore be it <br /> <br />RESOLVED by the Martinsvilte City School Board that on this?day of luly, 2001, the- <br />Mart/nsville City School Board does fully support the Piedmont C./6vernor's School program, <br />and be it further <br /> <br />RESOLVED that it be known that the Martinsville City School Board, pending funding by the <br />State, plans to participate in the program commencing with the 2002 s~hool year as a member of <br />the Governing Board, an4 <br /> <br />BE IT FURTI:IER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Virg'inia Board of <br />Education, urging approval. : <br /> <br />Chairman ~ Charles W Jr. <br /> <br />.
