This strategy would <br />allow the Council to communicate how services might be impacted should <br />resource reductions occur. There is no intention to arbitrarily discontinue or <br />modify any service or progrom, but to gather information that will improve <br />community decision making and citizen understanding.) <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br /> Explore regional cooperation with neighboring 'counties and cities. <br />Action Plan: <br /> <br /> Explore the development of cooperative relationships with Danville <br /> and South Boston. <br /> <br /> Participate in Southern Virginia Partnership. <br /> <br /> Seek opportunities to develop collaborations with Roanoke <br /> Regional and the Greensboro/Winston Salem/High Point area. <br /> <br /> Support legislation that encourages regional cooperation. <br /> <br /> Support the funding of the Regional Competitiveness Act. <br /> <br /> Support adoption of legislation that allows regional revenue <br /> sharing and the development of public/private partnerships. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br /> <br />
