May 30, 2001 <br /> <br /> A work session meeting to review the Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Proposed Budget of <br />the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, was held on May 30, 2001, in Council <br />Chamber of the Municipal Building, beginning at 7:00 P. M., with Mayor Mark Crabtree <br />presiding. Council Members present included: Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene <br />Teague, Vice Mayor; and Council Members Bruce H. T. Dallas, J. Ronald Ferrill, and <br />Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br /> At the direction of Mayor Crabtree, a moment of silence was-held for Memorial <br /> <br />Day. <br /> <br /> John Norman, of the Magistrate's Office, reviewed his budget request. <br /> <br /> Toy Cobbe, Executive Director of the Piedmont Arts Association, presented <br />highlights of the past year and reviewed her budget request. She, also, displayed an <br />educational treasure chest of Ancient China. She stated that if cuts were made, they <br />would have to be in labor and programs. <br /> <br /> Clark Eden, of the Blue Ridge Regional Airport, reviewed their budget request <br />and stated that 98 percent of capital improvements are funded through the Federal <br />government. <br /> <br /> Brenda Prillaman, Customer Services Coordinator, presented her program <br />review and reviewed her budget request. <br /> <br /> Bob Phillips, Safety Officer, presented his program review and reviewed his <br />budget request. <br /> <br /> Wade Bartlett, Director of Finance, presented a program review and reviewed the <br />budget request for Management Information Services and Purchasing. <br /> <br /> <br />
