Enclosure

Service
Excellence
Award

#2

March 27 2001

We are pleased to announce the Annual Service Excellence Award winner and the 1st quarter
2001 winner. Also, all 2000 nominees will be recognized at tonight's Neighborhood Town Meeting.
Each nominee sets a true example of what a public servant should be. Being nominated by
peers is a great honor and each one is to be commended for their individual efforts in creating a
positive, productive working atmosphere.
Each City employee has the opportunity of making a nomination for this award by submitting a
written, signed statement as to why the award should go to the nominee with examples of instances
where nominee exhibited "going the extra mile".
Members of the Customer Service Committee (who are exempt from the award) scored each
nomination on a point system. Serving on the 1999 Customer Service Committee were Brenda
Prillaman (Customer Service), Andrea Ward (Purchasing), Clarence Monday (Fire), Cindera Martin
(Police), Wayne Knox(Community Development), Sharon EchoIs (Utility Billing), Chris Morris (Public
Works), Jerry Caesar (Water Resources), and Mike Wilson (Electric). This award is not a popularity
contest, it is solely about the employee who goes the extra mile and provides exceptional service in
their job as a public servant. Each quarter, a winner will be selected and those four quarterly winners
will be eligible for the Annual Service Excellence Award.

Congratulations to the following 4 employees who were nominated for the
2001 first QUARTER Service Excellence Award:

T. J. Dunbar (Public Works)
Bryant Byrd (Public Works)

Bobby Setlift (Electric)
Danny Worrell (Public Works)

The 2000 quarterly winners eligible for the
2000 ANNUAL Service Excellence Award are:

Jimmy Blankenship (Electric)
Coretha Gravely (Police)

Lane Shively (Public Works)

ALL 2000 nominees are:

Lane Shively (Public Works)
Pete Hall (Public Works)
Randy Martin (Leisure Services)
Jimmy Blankenship (Electric)
Glenn Clements (Water Resources)
Tony Davis (Water Resources)
Chad Dodson (Public Works)

Dan Howell (Fire)
Henry Hall (Public Works)
Wayne Caudill (Water Resources)
Janet Hiatt (Police)
Susan Johnson (City Manager)
Bob Riggs (Fire)
Coretha Gravely (Police)
