Enclosure #1 28 <br /> <br />February 27, 2001 <br /> <br />A. regular, semi-monthly <br /> <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, and a work session meeting to review the program of Leisure Services were <br />held on February 27, 2001, in Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, beginning at <br />7:00 P. M., with Mayor Mark Crabtree presiding. Council Members present included: <br />Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene Teague, Vice Mayor; and Council Members Bruce <br />H. T. Dallas, J. Ronald Ferrill, and Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br /> Following the invocation by Council Member Dallas, Mayor Crabtree welcomed <br /> <br />everyone to the meeting. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. <br /> <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) <br />by Council Member <br />convened in Closed <br /> <br /> In accordance with <br />of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br />Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br />Appointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1. <br />1. Community Criminal Justice Board <br />2. Clean Community Commission <br />3. Transportation Safety Commission <br />Possible acquisition of real property for public use, as authorized by <br />Subsection 3. <br />Consultation with legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br /> <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br />Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following actions: <br /> <br /> A. Appointments to various Boards/Commissions. 1. No action. <br /> 2. No action. <br /> <br /> <br />
