Ronald Ferrill <br /> <br />Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meeting of <br />February 27, 2001. (See Enclosure #1) <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing regarding the conveyance of three lots <br />fronting Townes Street owned by the City to The Lester Group, <br />Inc., or its designee, for a price of $400.00. (See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: As you will recall from your last Council Meeting <br />when Townes Street was abandoned, the City owns three small lots <br />fronting Townes Street. Since The Lester Group owns all the other <br />property on both sides of Towns Street, they are interested in <br />purchasing these lots from the City. <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing regarding the R.P. Thomas Planning <br />Grant. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: In order to be eligible to apply for future Community <br />Development Block Grants (CDBG), we must conduct a Public <br />Hearing to receive public comments regarding past, present and <br />future use of CDBG funds. Mr. Wayne Knox will attend the <br />meeting to provide information regarding these projects. <br /> <br />Consider adoption of a Resolution requesting the Virginia Depart- <br />ment of Transportation to add eligible lane mileage for Collector/ <br />Local street maintenance payments to the City. (See Enclosure #4) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: As you will note from Leon Towarnicki's memo, we <br />have had changes in the status of several streets recently, there- <br />fore, there is a need to update our eligible lane miles for the State's <br />calculation of street maintenance payments to the City. We recom- <br />mend that Council adopt this Resolution as prepared. <br /> <br />Consider a report by the City's Public Works Director regarding <br />recycling of various materials in the City. (See Enclosure #5) <br /> <br /> <br />
