33 <br />February 27, 2001 <br /> <br />Council reviewed the program of Leisure Services. Mr. Rinaldi reviewed the <br />organizational chart, vehicle list, equipment list, City parks and facilities, park <br />renovations, Hooker Field renovations, staff, participation information, cost <br /> <br />avoidance/cost savings, and financial report. There was considerable discussion <br />regarding job titling and descriptions. Mr. Rinaldi stated, "There hasn't been a change <br />in park fees in twenty years." Council Member Dallas moved to suspend the hiring of a <br />Recreation Specialist until budget time; the motion was dully seconded. Mr. Rinaldi <br />stated, "If the vacancy isn't filled until then, changes in the summer programming would <br /> <br />need to be made." Council Member Ferrill <br />subsidiary motion was duly seconded and <br /> <br />moved to table the main motion; the <br />carried by the following vote, with all <br /> <br />members voting: Vote 4 - 1; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (1) - <br />Dallas. Vice Mayor Teague stated, 'Tm understanding that long-term work on the parks <br />is done during the winter and spring and short-term work is done during the summer to <br />prepare them for events." Council Member Dallas moved to take the previous main <br />motion from the table; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, <br />with all members voting: Vote 3 - 2; Yeas (3) - Dallas, Ferrill, Roop; Nays (2) - <br />Crabtree, Teague. The previous motion to suspend the hiring of a Recreation Specialist <br />until budget time was defeated by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 1 - <br />4; Yeas (1) - Dallas; Nays (4) - Crabtree, Ferrill, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br /> In response to recent economic development discussions by the County of <br />Henry, Council Member Roop moved to appoint Mayor Crabtree and Vice Mayor <br />Teague to explore economic development issues collaboratively with the County; the <br /> <br /> <br />
