Accepted and appropriate $369.78 received from the <br /> Commonwealth of Virginia into Revenue 01101917-442401 - <br /> Confiscated Assets/Police for Expenditure 01311085-506078 - <br /> State Asset Forfeitures for the Police Department in the General <br /> Fund of the City's FY2000-2001 Budget. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br /> <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br /> <br />by Council Member Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br />Appointment/Nomination to various Boards/Commissions, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1: <br />1. Appointment to Planning Commission. <br />2. Nomination to the Western Virginia Emergency Medical <br /> Services Council. <br />Consultation with legal counsel pertaining to probable litigation, as <br />authorized by Subsection 7. <br />Consultation with legal counsel regarding a specific legal matter, as <br />authorized by Subsection 7. <br />Consultation with legal counsel regarding a specific legal matter, as <br />authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br /> <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br /> <br />Session. <br /> <br />Upon retum to Open Session, Council took the following actions: <br /> <br />Appointment/Nomination to various Boards/Commissions, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1: <br />1. Council Member Ferrill moved to appoint James Barnett, of <br /> 1318 Root Trail, to complete a four-year term on the <br /> Planning Commission, expiring 06~30~2002; the motion was <br /> duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br /> members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, <br /> Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br />2. Vice Mayor Teague moved to nominate Clarence Monday, of <br /> 141 Pioneer Trail, Collinsville, to a three-year term on the <br /> <br /> <br />
